Ro-Ro Ship, SHAHIN, Sank At Anchorage

On April 8, Ro-Ro cargo ship SHAHIN Flagged Panama, started to sink on Port Sudan anchorage.

SHAHIN was at Sudan anchorage since April 2016.

This ship whicht was renamed many times, was at anchor in a lay-up, with four maintenance crew.

All attempts were made to prevent the ship from sinking.

Yet the ship sank on Apr 10.

It is believed that there was a breach in the hull of the ship causing the ingress of water.

The crew are said to be safe.
