I was introduced to Sea-connect by a friend, then I thought it’s another portal but then I started visiting the site and saw how this site was structured just for seafarers by a seafarer. It is evolving every day innovating new programs benefiting the members. Very quick customer service. Over all it is the go to place for any seafarer.
I was one of the first few to sign into Sea-Connect because of its uniqueness and I had anticipated its popularity. There were a few attempts by other web page developers to gather seafarers under their umbrella but they were not largely successful for a number of reasons. When I heard of Capt. Rohit Sharma’s plans of launching the Sea-Connect website, he seemed to have covered all bases and he had planned it to become the Facebook of seafarers, I was impressed. Besides having the charisma and the energy to push it forward, he was well-backed technically and financially to take the website forward successfully. Today Sea Connect has surpassed all my expectations by growing at an exponential rate. It has become a place where you can connect with fellow seafarers, search, chat, share experiences at sea, be hired, or hire somebody, read the latest global news and updates about the shipping industry, find important circulars, DNV, P&I, and other informational articles. It also has a Blogspot where seafarers can blog about their experiences. A big plus for Sea Connect is its "Pay It Forward" program, where Sea-Connect offers a complimentary 1 Lac accidental insurance from their insurance partner CARE Insurance to all members registered on their platform and for new registrations as well. I would strongly recommend anyone connected with Shipping to sign-in to Sea Connect. It's a win-win choice.
Sea-connect is a relatively young website, but has achieved well in the short span as a very energetic team running an extremely useful website for Seafarers. It has many merits, just to name a few: Connection with fellow seafarers via chat. Share useful and unique experiences, get updated with the latest news/updates on both shipping and non-marine related new to keep abreast with the fast moving World. Those youngsters who are into networking or blog can use the tools available too. In addition to the above, Sea-connect is negotiating with insurance companies for the best deals for the members. Though I belong to the old school- yet the website can be easily navigated as there is sufficient information and the site is not the run of the mill, but draws your attention and keeps you engrossed. A great tool and highly recommended to the seafarer on the go.
